This season of the show is all about LM Life Lessons: the greatest lessons I’ve learned (and continue to learn) and the lessons I share most with my mentees, event attendees and online program participants.
Trying – as much as possible – to be my own best coach has helped me stretch beyond my comfort zone on many occasions, and also helped me navigate tough challenges… so it definitely needed an episode in this season!
I’ve noticed with the mentees, workshop attendees and program participants that I work with how much of a self-imposed block negative self talk creates. And the worst thing about negative self talk is that it’s insidious: we can be as cruel, hurtful and obnoxious to ourselves in our own minds… and no-one might ever guess.
Figuring out how to spot our own self talk patterns and give them a serious upgrade is one of the most valuable life skills we can learn – and pass on to others.
In this episode, I share:
- How we can become more aware of our self talk
- The lens I teach mentees to apply to their self talk to see if it’s negative
- The physical impact words can have on our bodies, and on others (based on the work of Japanese scientist and author Dr Masaru Emoto)
- How we can re-write the script in our heads
- How to enlist the help of others in upgrading your self talk
I also mention in this episode my first Step Into You Retreat, which is happening 15th-18th October in Noosa Hinterland.
If four days and three nights of being totally taken care of appeals to you, then you’ll LOVE this. I’m bringing together all the best elements of retreats I’ve experienced (hint: yoga, food, rest, workshops), and sharing them with a group of women on our own 44-acre of magical Nature.
